Gang of Dragon: Toshiro Nagoshi's Project Canceled
The development of the crime action game Gang of Dragon by Yakuza creator Toshiro Nagoshi has been halted. In a recent article from the Japanese publication Famitsu, Nagoshi is not mentioned as the head of Nagoshi Studio.
The Nagoshi Studio website has been down since spring, and its YouTube channel was removed. It is believed that the project was stopped after the NetEase holding decided to cease funding.

Rumors suggest that $44 million was needed for the completion of Gang of Dragon, but since May 2026, NetEase has chosen not to invest further. The developers have not commented on the situation, but the activity surrounding the studio confirms these rumors.
Interestingly, co-founder Daisuke Sato now refers to himself as a former employee of the studio. It seems the studio has closed, as the Google Maps indicates that the Nagoshi Studio office is permanently closed.
