Top 20 Most Beautiful Spas in the World: Eye-Tracking Study Results

A dream spa is not just about treatments but also the surrounding environment.

From secluded jungle resorts to lakeside retreats, the surroundings can completely transform the experience for spa visitors who truly need to unwind.

A study from the University of Oxford revealed that visually stimulating environments enhance the perception of other senses. This means that an attractive setting helps guests relax more deeply and even boosts the effects of treatments.

A new study using eye-tracking technology has ranked the most stunning spas in the world, which impress either with views or luxurious interiors.

SpaSeekers, a British online spa booking service, compiled a list of 50 spa resorts known for their beauty.

200 participants from various countries evaluated their visual interaction with images of these spas using eye-tracking technology. The scores on a 100-point scale were based on how quickly the appearance of the object attracted attention and how long it held it.

As a result, SpaSeekers narrowed down the list to the top 20 most beautiful spas across five continents.

The top five in the ranking are particularly visually impressive.

The Lost Spring, New Zealand

Located on the Coromandel Peninsula, this spa scored 96.2 out of 100, topping the list of the most attractive spas thanks to its geothermal waters, tropical gardens, and treatment rooms with views of nature.

Peninsula Hot Springs, Australia

In second place is the spa on the Mornington Peninsula, which scored 88.7 points. This resort offers open pools and a relaxing atmosphere, located less than an hour and a half from Melbourne.
