Path of Exile 2 Set to Release from Early Access in 2026: Final Patch on May 29

The release of version 1.0 is expected no earlier than November.

Grinding Gear Games has confirmed plans to release Path of Exile 2 from early access in 2026, following the ExileCon festival scheduled for early November.

Before the release, a major content update titled Return of the Ancients is set to launch on May 29. This update will receive version 0.5, skipping versions 0.6–0.9.

A key condition for the release of Path of Exile 2 from early access is the successful overhaul of the endgame, which will be addressed in the Return of the Ancients update.

If players respond positively to the endgame changes from Return of the Ancients, there will be no reason to delay the release of Path of Exile 2 further. Otherwise, various scenarios may be considered.

In addition to refining the endgame, the studio needs to complete the fifth and sixth acts of the Path of Exile 2 storyline. Work on these is already underway, but the content for the final acts is not yet ready.

There is also a possibility that the release version of Path of Exile 2 will not include all 12 planned classes. Developers believe it is more important to refine the existing classes than to introduce the remaining ones.
