Double Victory for Tajikistan on the Second Day of the Judo Grand Slam
On the second day of the Judo Grand Slam tournament in Tajikistan, the arena was once again filled to capacity. Fans eagerly awaited more world-class matches.
The tournament was officially opened by the President of the Judo Federation of Tajikistan, Ismoil Mahmadzoir, and the Director of Logistics of the International Judo Federation, Luiza Ajius Galea, also welcomed the judo family in Dushanbe.
A vibrant cultural performance followed.
In the final of the 63 kg category, two representatives from Mongolia, Bold and Lkhagvatogoo, faced off. The match went into golden score, and a false attack from the opponent led to Bold's victory.
The awards were presented by the Minister of Labor, Migration, and Employment of Tajikistan, Soleha Khomakhmadzoda.
In the final of the 73 kg category, rising Tajik judo star Mukhiddin Asadulloev fully justified his status as the top seed. In the decisive match against Karen Galstyan, he executed a counterattack for ippon early in the bout, thrilling the crowd.
This was the second gold medal of the tournament for the hosts.

In the final of the 70 kg category, Mihaela Polleres faced Alexandra Kovalevskaya. A brilliant ko-uchi-gari by the young Polish athlete caught Polleres off guard and brought Kovalevskaya her first Grand Slam gold medal of her career.
The medal was presented by the Director of the Refereeing Commission of the International Judo Federation, Raul Camacho Perez.

Olympic bronze medalist Somon Mahmadbekov faced Austrian Bernd Fasching. An early yuko score in favor of the Tajik judoka proved decisive, earning him gold in the 81 kg category.
The awards were presented by the First Deputy Mayor of Dushanbe, Bakhtiyor Sharifi.
For Tajikistan, it was another magnificent day as local athletes showcased their skills at the highest level.
