Judo: Heavyweights Shine at the Tournament in Dushanbe

The final day of the Grand Slam tournament in Tajikistan attracted numerous judo fans eager for exciting competitions.

In the final of the under 90 kg category, Mansur Lorsanov faced Olympic medalist Theodoros Tsellidis. The match went to golden score, where Lorsanov was declared the winner for his more active performance.

The awards were presented by the President of the Judo Federation of Tajikistan, Ismoil Mahmadzoir.

In the under 78 kg category, UAE's Elizaveta Litvinenko emerged as the best, securing her first Grand Slam gold medal with a powerful o-goshi on ippon.

The medal was presented by the First Deputy Chair of the Committee for Youth and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Shabnam Rahimzoda.

In the final of the under 100 kg category, Fuchun Huang faced Adam Sangariev and became the first Chinese judoka to win a Grand Tour gold in the last nine years, executing a magnificent o-uchi-gari.

In the over 78 kg category, Asya Tavano defended her title against Jinisinuer Aiman with a precise o-uchi-gari. The awards were presented by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan, Matlubakhon Sattoriyon.

In the final of the over 100 kg category, 22-year-old Jakub Sordyl claimed the last gold of the tournament by effectively turning and holding Bislan Katamardov. This is his first Grand Tour gold medal.

The gold medal was presented by a member of the Executive Committee of the International Judo Federation, Luiza Ajius Galea.
