Danieli Four Seasons Hotel in Venice: A New Era of Luxury and Design
Danieli is a symbol of historic luxury hospitality in Venice, having opened in 1822 and hosted guests like Charles Dickens and Richard Wagner.
Now the hotel is under the management of Four Seasons and has undergone a major renovation.

“In collaboration with our long-time partners, Gruppo Statuto, we offer guests a unique opportunity to experience the grandeur of Venice anew.”
Shades of the Lagoon and Restored Artworks
Located on the Riva degli Schiavoni waterfront, Danieli offers breathtaking views of St. Mark's Bay and the island of San Giorgio Maggiore from its rooftop terrace.
The complex consists of three buildings. The Dandolo Palace, built in 1471, is considered one of the finest examples of Venetian Gothic architecture.
Adjacent to it are the Casa Nuova palace, which once housed the treasury of the Venetian Republic, and the Danieli Excelsior palace, completing the architectural history of the hotel.
Both the Dandolo Palace and Casa Nuova have been updated by renowned French interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, who blended historical heritage with a modern perspective.

The interiors feature a palette inspired by the Venetian lagoon: subtle celadon greens, soft blues, terracotta, ochre, and delicate pinks, echoing the city's marble facades and historic plasterwork.
Upon entering the Dandolo Palace lobby, the eye is immediately drawn to the ceiling adorned with restored hand-gilding, forming a four-petal ornament against a backdrop of azure blue. The columns, stone finishes, and grand staircase have also been meticulously restored by skilled artisans.
Natural light plays a key role, thanks to Venetian mirrors and reflective surfaces, while Murano glass, terrazzo flooring, and custom Rubelli fabrics pay homage to local craftsmanship.
A carefully curated collection of artworks — intaglios, Venetian engravings, and aged mirrors — is inspired by the spirit of the Grand Tour, when Venice was a must-stop for artists, writers, and cultured travelers.
Rooms with Media Walls and Automated Curtains
The hotel reopens with 120 rooms and suites; after the completion of the restoration of the Danieli Excelsior in 2027, the total will increase to 168.
The restoration of the historic Dandolo Palace and Casa Nuova has allowed for more spacious layouts and an expanded collection of Junior Suite and one-bedroom suites.
Technology is seamlessly integrated into all interiors. The media wall in the room incorporates a TV into a thoughtful composition of artworks and decorative items. Rooms also feature automated curtains, customizable lighting scenarios, and an intuitive climate control system.
Terrazza Danieli Restaurant and Danieli Spa
One of the hotel's main attractions is the Terrazza Danieli, a rooftop restaurant with views of the lagoon. Its design has been updated to enhance natural lighting and highlight the water panorama.
Guests can enjoy a modern interpretation of Italian cuisine with a Venetian twist from Chef Adriano Rausa.
The hotel's transformation will continue at the end of 2026 with the opening of Danieli Spa, featuring three treatment rooms, including one designed for couples' spa programs, as well as a sauna and hammam.
