Stephen King and Sam Raimi Team Up for New Adaptation
This time, Raimi will serve only as a producer.
Searchlight Pictures has begun work on adapting Stephen King's novel "Desperation." Producer Sam Raimi, known for "Evil Dead" and the original Spider-Man trilogy, will collaborate with King for the first time.
According to THR, directors Zak Lipovsky and Adam Stein, who made the horror film "Final Destination: Blood Ties," are in talks to helm the project. The screenplay for "Desperation" is being written by Ryan Brennan.

The original novel tells the story of a group of travelers stranded in a remote desert town where evil has awakened. They will face an obsessed police officer who turns arrests into a hunt.
The adaptation of "Desperation" is in the early stages of development, with no directors or confirmed cast yet. The release date has not been announced, but the film is expected to come out closer to 2030.
