A Unique Orc with a Compelling Story Joins Season Three of Rings of Power
He may not be a deserter, but a cunning agent of Sauron's influence.
One of the characters in the third season of the series "The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power" will be an orc named Marnuk. In an interview with IGN, the creators of the series reveal their intention to portray orcs in an unexpected light.
According to the plot, Marnuk is captured by Galadriel and Arondir: the orc claims he decided to desert Sauron's army, but Arondir, who knows orcish ways well, is skeptical of his story.

It is known that the crew members referred to Marnuk as an orc with his own character arc: the authors decided to give him a complex motivation and personality, moving away from the traditional portrayal of orcs as ruthless but not very intelligent warriors of Sauron. It is expected that some viewers will feel sympathy for Marnuk's story.
I have a special fondness for this orc. I believe Marnuk will evoke very mixed feelings among viewers.
Sources did not clarify whether Marnuk truly decided to desert Sauron's army or if this non-canonical orc is simply trying to gain the trust of his enemies — we will have to wait and see.
The premiere of the third season of "Rings of Power" is set for November 11.
