Cliff Richard Makes a Comeback Thanks to GTA 6
Cliff Richard, the British singer celebrating his 86th birthday, is back in the spotlight thanks to his song Devil Woman featured in the gameplay of Grand Theft Auto 6.
After the video was released, the number of streams for the song surged by 325%. The musician admitted he knew little about Rockstar Games.
In an interview with The Times, Richard shared that he learned about his music's inclusion in GTA 6 from family members. His nephew's sons were thrilled to hear his familiar voice in the gameplay video.

“I was told about it! My nephew, who has two boys, said they ran to him shouting: ‘Dad, that’s Uncle Cliff!’ They didn’t even know I could sing like that. Is this a game show, right? One of the most popular on television?” Richard remarked.
The song Devil Woman first appeared on the album I'm Nearly Famous, released 50 years ago, and had a resurgence in popularity in 2017 thanks to the film “I, Tonya” starring Margot Robbie.
Richard is pleased with the unexpected return of his song to the charts and the attention from the younger generation. “Now people will stop saying, ‘Oh, Cliff Richard is the past.’ I do belong to the past, but that past has made the present what it is,” he added.
Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released on November 19.
