Emiliano Garcia-Page, head of the Castilla-La Mancha region, warned that they do not rule out an increase in the death toll, as rescue services have collected 31 bags with remains.

Authorities reported that there are still 67 missing persons cases active, including 14 concerning foreigners.

Among the deceased is a Portuguese citizen who was working on one of the trains. The death of a French citizen has also been confirmed.
