Evacuation of Residents from Occupied Oleshky Completed: They Arrived in Ukraine
Buses carrying residents from the Russian-occupied Oleshky have arrived in the Chernihiv region of Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this on Facebook.
Zelensky thanked the USA, First Lady Melania Trump, and Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, who coordinated the humanitarian mission. Lubinets confirmed that the mission was successfully completed, and the ceasefire in Oleshky continues until Sunday evening.
The evacuees landed at the airport in Gomel, Belarus, where they were greeted by Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament's Commissioner for Human Rights.
“We will be home soon! While we are in the Republic of Belarus, we are with our citizens and their beloved pets!” - Lubinets wrote, accompanying the text with a video.

Politician Davyd Arakhamia previously reported that the fourth and final plane with evacuees landed in Gomel.
The Russian Ministry of Defense also confirmed that residents of Oleshky who wished to leave for Ukraine were sent by planes to Gomel. The ministry published footage showing buses arriving and people boarding the plane.
Melania Trump stated that the convoy is ready to evacuate over 750 people “who voluntarily choose to leave Oleshky.”
“It includes 25 buses, 50 medical personnel, and ambulances,” - she said.
Russian Strikes on Ukraine
This comes amid President Zelensky's statement that about 280,000 Ukrainian households were left without electricity after overnight Russian strikes.
“Russian strikes have created a challenging situation for electricity supply in our regions,” - Zelensky noted.
He reported that around 200,000 households in Dnipro and over 80,000 households in the Kyiv region were left without power. Emergency crews are working to restore electricity supply.
