Heidi Klum Stuns in Giant Bloody Hand Costume for Halloween
When Heidi Klum announces her annual Halloween party, fans know it will be spectacular. This year, the supermodel surprised everyone by appearing in a costume of a giant severed hand, which was hard to recognize as a costume at first glance.
Hours before the party, Klum kept her followers in suspense by sharing teasers of her transformation. Photos of items resembling internal organs sparked a wave of guesses, but few could predict the final look.
A Unique Costume
The costume was an enlarged replica of Klum's left hand, created using body scans. It even featured her wedding ring and a tattoo with her husband Tom Kaulitz's name.

“I looked at my hand and thought, maybe I can fit my body inside it,” Klum explained how the idea for such an extravagant costume came to her.
Since the design turned out to be too bulky for a regular outing, it was transported in the cargo area of a small truck. For added shock value on the red carpet, the hand sprayed fake blood while Klum displayed a bloody tongue.
This transformation was once again crafted by effects and makeup specialist Mike Marino, who has worked on several of Klum's costumes.
The process is time-consuming, and Klum spends hours in the makeup chair. Sometimes, to avoid missing moments, she wears a diaper.
She wants as many guests as possible to take memorable photos with her costume. A shot with a hand freshly severed from the forearm will surely be unforgettable.
25 Years of Halloween Celebrations
The party at the New York restaurant Cathédrale celebrated its 25th anniversary. Klum has previously appeared as a fat fishing worm, Medusa, and the alien E.T. Each year, she aims to surprise her guests with something new.
She is known as the Queen of Halloween, and it seems she has no plans to give up that title.
