Kazakhstan Claims Gold at Judo Grand Slam in Astana

The second day of the Qazaqstan Barysy Grand Slam 2026 in Astana was filled with anticipation and excitement. The opening ceremony, attended by high-ranking officials, marked the start of the competitions.

International Judo Federation President Marius Vizer and other officials confirmed that the 2026 Junior World Championships will be held in Tashkent.

In the under 63 kg category, Dali Liluashvili faced Enkhriilen Lkhagvatogoo in the final. Liluashvili started strong with a yuko but ultimately lost to the Mongolian representative.

Dr. Ioan Cosmescu presented the awards to the winners.

In the under 73 kg final, Olympic champion Fabio Basile competed against Danil Lavrentyev. Lavrentyev secured victory in the golden score, winning the gold medal.
