Players will encounter a rare three-level interchange.

Ahead of the release of the Illinois expansion, the developers of the truck simulator American Truck Simulator have revealed details about Chicago, the largest city in the state. The city is not recreated to a 1:1 scale, but efforts have been made to make it realistic and recognizable.

Chicago is well-known from movies and other games, so many players may envision it even without having been there. This makes it crucial to meet fan expectations.

The city's transportation infrastructure has been recreated, including elevated, underground, and surface rapid transit lines. Characteristic overpasses are also included.

Developers have recreated the three-level Lower Wacker Drive highway, located underground — a rarity in the gaming world.

Additionally, oversized cargo that players can deliver in Illinois has been showcased. The expansion will offer three routes for transporting massive tires, bodies, and more. As in other states, police will assist players during these deliveries.

The Illinois expansion for American Truck Simulator will be released on May 14.
