Champions of the Second Day of the Judo Grand Slam in Budapest
The Judo Grand Slam in Hungary 2026 continues in Budapest. The tournament opened with speeches from:
- Dr. Lisa Allan, Secretary General of the International Judo Federation,
- Attila Kalnoky-Kis, Secretary of State for Sports in Hungary,
- Christian Toth, President of the Hungarian Judo Association.
On the second day, fans met the heroes of Hungarian judo, and then attention shifted back to the tatami.
In the first final of the day, Slovenian Kaja Kaiser Zabkar faced Japanese Megu Danno in the under 63 kg category. In a tough match, Danno won with a yuko, securing her second Grand Slam gold in just four World Tour appearances.

The medals were presented by Attila Kalnoky-Kis.
In the under 73 kg final, Swedish Narek Vardanyan competed against Azerbaijani Rashid Mamedaliev. A perfectly executed seoi-nage earned Mamedaliev an ippon and his first Grand Slam gold medal.
The medal was awarded by Dr. Lisa Allan.
In the under 70 kg category, Greek Elizaveta Telsidou was in excellent form, confidently advancing through the preliminary rounds. In the final, she followed her plan, achieving waza-ari and a hold to claim her fifth Grand Slam gold.
The medals were presented by Siteni Randrianasoloniaina, Vice President of the International Judo Federation.
In the under 81 kg final, Japanese Yoshito Hozho fought for his second Grand Slam gold. The match went to golden score, where Hozho's technical skills secured him the final gold of the second day.
The medals were awarded by Obaid Al-Anzi, Vice President of the International Judo Federation.
