Judo: Highlights from the Grand Slam Finals in Hungary
On the third day of the Grand Slam in Hungary, the stands were once again filled with fans. Matches with judo legends provided an exciting day on the tatami.
Brazilian Guilherme Schmidt, previously competing in the under 81 kg category, is now aiming for gold in the under 90 kg category. He secured his third Grand Slam gold.
The medal was presented by Hungary's Minister of Interior, Gabor Poshfai.
In the under 78 kg final, Japan's Mao Izumi faced Croatia's Petrunela Pavic, who made her Grand Slam final debut. A powerful obi-tori-gaeshi brought Pavic her first gold in this tournament series.

In the over 78 kg category, Raz Hershko, competing in her 17th Grand Slam final, faced French athlete Celia Kankan. An impressive harai-goshi earned Hershko an ippon and her seventh Grand Slam gold.

In the over 100 kg final, Valery Endovitsky demonstrated complete dominance. Two yuko secured him the highest step on the podium and his fourth Grand Slam gold.
