World Nomad Games: A Celebration of Culture and Sport
The VI World Nomad Games took place in Bishkek, the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic. The opening ceremony was held at the newly built "Bishkek Arena" and gathered over 3000 athletes from 109 countries. This event was especially significant as it coincided with the 35th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's independence. More than 20 heads of state attended the ceremony, as it coincided with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.

Athletes competed in 42 disciplines, including traditional nomadic sports such as kokpar and horse wrestling, as well as globally recognized events like archery and tug of war.
An ethno-village was opened in the Kychin Gorge, recreating the traditional lifestyle of nomadic peoples.
Over six days, hundreds of competitions took place, with a highlight being the rivalry between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, both countries winning numerous medals.
The Games attracted over 200,000 visitors and were covered by more than 2000 Kyrgyz and 550 foreign journalists, showcasing the culture and traditions of nomadic peoples.
