The Hint App surveyed 14,673 adults from the US, UK, Canada, EU, Australia, and Latin America. It found that 61% consciously behave differently while traveling.

In everyday life, most describe themselves as predictable people living by a schedule.
How Travel Changes Our Behavior
47% of respondents admitted they consciously did things in their trips that seemed appropriate only during vacation. This indicates a temporary shift in the criteria by which people evaluate their decisions away from home.
For example, 38% decided to buy something they would usually consider unnecessary, simply because it was tied to memories of the trip.
42% stayed out late to avoid 'wasting' a vacation evening. 35% were surprised by their behavior upon returning home.
The study shows that our usual routines can be more flexible than we think. For the 61% who consciously change their behavior while traveling, vacations become a temporary excuse to rewrite their own rules.
