Quentin Tarantino Announces Novel About Cliff Booth's Adventures
Quentin Tarantino will continue the story of Cliff Booth in two formats. On December 8, 2026, his novel The Adventures of Cliff Booth will be released, focusing on Brad Pitt's character from the film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The events of the novel take place in Hollywood in 1977, a few years after the events of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. By this time, Cliff Booth has worked as a stuntman, bartender, and projectionist; the novel also mentions secret missions that Cliff occasionally undertakes for friends.

Almost simultaneously, the film The Adventures of Cliff Booth, directed by David Fincher and based on Tarantino's script, will be released. The film's events also take place in 1977, and it is possible that Tarantino's novel is an adaptation of the film's script. Brad Pitt reprises his role as Cliff Booth, and there is no information about the appearance of other characters from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
The Adventures of Cliff Booth will be released in theaters in two parts: a limited IMAX release on November 25, 2026, followed by a Netflix release on December 23. Tarantino's novel will be released almost exactly in between these dates.
