Budapest Hosts Exhibition of Top Hungarian Journalists' Photographs
The 44th exhibition showcasing the best photographs by Hungarian photojournalists opened at the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center in Budapest. The exhibition features themes such as the anticipation of political change, parents raising sick children, and ballet.
Executive Director Orsolya Kőrösi emphasized the growing importance of photojournalists' work. "A photojournalist does not just take pictures; they witness, choose, and interpret, taking responsibility for the truthfulness of their work," she stated.

Over 6,200 works from 258 photographers were submitted for the competition. "The exhibition displays not only award-winning works but also those deemed significant by the jury," added András Bankuti, head of the photojournalists' section.
He also highlighted that retouching photographs is prohibited in the competition, underscoring the importance of authenticity. "Our responsibility is to ensure that the images are genuine," he remarked.
The exhibition will run until November 8, and the best photographs will also be showcased in a traveling version across Hungary.
